Ascot Care are delighted to be able to say that we are celebrating 30 years in care. We began Ascot Care 30 years ago to provide high quality residential care to those who needed it. We are exceptionally happy that over the years we have succeeded and Ascot Care has grown from one care home to 6 care homes across the North East of England from Alnwick to Darlington. All 6 of our care homes were open to the public last week as part of the national care home open day. We hope you all had a chance to visit one of our care homes near to you and we welcome any feedback from your visit.

A great day was had by all, the sun was out and with so many activities taking place it was difficult not to have fun.

Residents, staff, family, friends and members of the public were kept entertained throughout the day and here is what was happening at each of our homes.

Castleview - Alnwick

Castle view enjoyed a raffle, tombola, stalls, food and beverages and finished the afternoon listening to a fabulous singer.

The Gardens - Darlington

Residents , staff and family had fun at the Gardens when the mini pony came along to say hello, also entertained by local singer and plenty of refreshments throughout the day.

The Lawns - Monkseaton

Cakes were enjoyed celebrating the 30 years in care along with being entertained by girl band ‘The Silver Stars’

St Annes’s - Whitley Bay

St Anne’s enjoyed a great BBQ with plenty of entertainment from a Ukulele band, and many arts and crafts were created throughout the day, along with cake stalls, tombola and raffle.

Springfield Lodge - West Rainton

Springfield Lodge were busy with jewellery, cards and perfume stalls. Rainton Lodge Primary school children had a sing off with the residents, the children singing songs from the bygone era whilst residents tried out modern songs. The children won, who were judged by Sheila, daughter of Gordon, a resident at Springfield. West Rainton and Leamside nursery helped decorate cakes with residents and visitors from the dementia friendly society. The children enjoyed their fish n chip lunch.
